Restic repository hosting for offsite backups

repo.rent provides a REST server repository to which you can securely and efficiently back up using restic.

Pay-per-megabyte billing only charges you for the storage space you actually use. Set up a limit to prevent accidental overage.

Enable append-only mode so that only new data can be appended to the repository, while existing data is immutable.

With restic, your backups are encrypted, deduplicated and compressed.

Pricing

In short: You pay $5 per TB per month, with your first 10 GB being free.

In full: Your repository’s storage is measured once an hour. Each measurement is multiplied by an hourly rate of $0.00000000694 per megabyte, and these charges are added together at the end of the month. The hourly rate is adjusted slightly based on the month's length so that the total always equals $5 per TB per month.

There are no charges for ingress/egress. Charges under $1 will roll over to the next billing period.

Datacenter and redundancy

The servers are located in Hetzner’s Falkenstein datacenter park. Data is mirrored with a RAID configuration, rendering data loss unlikely.
